I don't root for them, but I've also never been one to root against teams that win year after year after year for the sake of parity and seeing someone else in the biggest games.

I'll generally lean a bit towards the underdog if it's a great game, like those Bama/Clemson games and leaning towards Clemson because I wanted them to stay in the game.... but, I'd much rather watch Alabama play Georgia in the SEC Championship and then again in the NC than one of those teams get knocked off just to see Georgia destroy Ohio State or something stupid.

I certainly didn't say the B1G was better or necessarily the same as the SEC, and I'm not saying you did directly either, but the SEC is highly overvalued in terms of competitiveness comparatively, that's for certain. Georgia tends to have a good team but tends to fail when they face Bama (sounds like Michigan vs OSU). LSU tends to be good but falls into obscurity for a couple of years at a crack. When you look at consistency in getting to the playoffs, it's Alabama and that's it and it's undeniable. Look at Georgia's and LSU's W-L over the years, then look at Michigan and Wisconsin. There's not a difference. Like Alabama in the SEC, OSU is the cream of the crop in the B1G. If you dig down, B1G teams tend to have better records at the bottom of the conference than SEC teams, which hints at a more competitive conference. Does the SEC tend to have the B1G's number head-to-head? Yes, and more especially in bowl games, and that's why I give a slight edge to the SEC but I won't concede it's some enormous difference or that the B1G doesn't field high-quality competition. For whatever reason, the B1G can't seem to get a team over the top once in a while outside of OSU no matter how good some of those other teams have been. The SEC is the darling, at least right now, and much to thank for Alabama's dominance in the current era. If not for 'Bama, the historical record for National Championships would be even more severely skewed in favor of the B1G. Something to chew on, I suppose.
