Just give Mahomes 2 more seconds in the pocket, that's literally all he needs.

I’m afraid we need to call up Donovan Smith now with Humphries already hurt.

Get all the reinforcements you can.

Yeah this should have already happened, I'm sure Smith can be brought in for cheap now this late in the season. I honestly did not think I'd see Wanya again at LT, for sure I thought they would move Thuney over. I guess they want to get Pat killed? I'm sort of not joking here

louie aguiar 12-08-2024 10:38 PM

Any word on his injury?

CBS Sports stated it was a hamstring injury, could be nothing, could be the season

Sign him and Bakhtiari both. I don't even care at this point.

MahomesMagic 12-08-2024 10:48 PM

Sign 4 left tackles this week.

Not like we need WR's with no time to throw anyway.

Anything to keep Wanya Kingsley off the field.

We might be in a real mess now.

Dude probably needed to play a half game to get the tree trunks primed up.

KC_Connection 12-08-2024 10:49 PM

I hope Donovan Smith is still in game shape.

Hopefully it’s nothing major- really was hoping this guy could solidify the offensive line.

FloridaMan88 12-08-2024 10:54 PM

Myles Garrett next week.

Need to ensure that LT isn’t a turnstile if Humphries can’t go.

This is how Direkshun feels. His mom is like a Chiefs left tackle.

She's more like an All-Pro LT.

She can take on multiple guys as once and ask for more.

This is encouraging. At least he didn't end that statement with "too bad he's gonna be out for awhile". Hopefully it was just a cramp.

Of course he was rusty, he's a 320lb guy 11 months out from a torn ACL with a week and a half of practice going against Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack. But I saw glimpses, which is more than what Wayne and Kingsley were showing.

This is weird. Every single post-game Andy presser begins with injury updates. That's how it's always been. For him to not mention anything is... odd?

Our media sucks donkey balls. Not a single one of them asked about the injury.

jerryaldini 12-08-2024 11:41 PM

I thought DJ looked fine in the second half. Hope he just cramped up.

I think he's definitely a step up over Wanya, although I also hope Wanyas struggles are due in part to his lingering knee bruise

smithandrew051 12-08-2024 11:48 PM

Considering the time off, new team, and assignment, I think he did about as well as we could realistically had hoped for.

I doubt it’s anything too serious, based on Andy’s comment.

Would be great to lock up the 1 early and let him get a break after a couple weeks of play.

BossChief 12-08-2024 11:48 PM

Wild they didn’t even ask about a top development like that.

BWillie 12-08-2024 11:50 PM

Yeah looked almost as bad as Morris in the 1st quarter but then seemed to settle down.

OnTheWarpath15 12-08-2024 11:50 PM

Weird because he took his gloves and knee brace off knowing he wasn't going back in.

That's not gonna be the case with cramps in a high leverage situation.

Props to Wanya for not completely shitting the bed.

That's a crazy good throw in a must have. Moving to his left he leaves his feet and just flings the ball 20 yards on target. Then he makes the 10 yard run and the 3rd down to Kelce. Another masterful drive to clinch the win.

Hammock Parties 12-09-2024 01:49 AM

I can't tell you how good it made me feel to start that drive at the 40.

Then, to have third and 10 and the QB step up bigly.

Both of those things are the inverse of what used to happen to the Chiefs in these moments.

Dante84 12-09-2024 02:38 AM

It's stupid as **** that this guy's hammy situation might determine our threepeat chances but here we are.

He wasn't good last night but he will get better if he can keep playing, and I'd think by January he's not costing them games in any fashion.

Sassy Squatch 12-09-2024 08:46 AM

pugsnotdrugs19 12-09-2024 08:47 AM

Chargers gave us major fits along the OL in both games this year.

The bad news, they're a division rival and we could see them again in the playoffs.

The good news, other teams haven't entirely replicated what they've done in other matchups. Yeah, we've had some DEs kill our LT, but gosh damn it seemed like the Chargers even have our interior's number too.

Sassy Squatch 12-09-2024 08:47 AM

Unfortunately the OL as a whole still sucked last night. 17 pressures and 3 sacks on 47 drop backs isn't going to get the job done. Pat really wasn't helping matters either.

Yep. That was as bad of an overall OL performance as we've seen since Week 4 @ LA.

I don't get it.

I don't know how much this has been discussed here because I don't read every thread, but some podcasters out there have talked about this and kind of agreed that it's Taylor putting Smith in a no win situation.

Taylor overcompensates to being beat up the arc and creates a huge gap leaving Smith to have to try to help while also blocking his assignment.

pugsnotdrugs19 12-09-2024 08:57 AM

Honestly guys, the Chargers have been taking advantage of our OL in unique ways for a few years now.

I still recall the 2022 TNF game at Arrowhead when they did the same shit, killing the entire front. That game made me question if we would be able to have a really good offense that year. Thankfully it was more of an outlier.

Mitchell Schwartz said as much a couple of weeks back.

htismaqe 12-09-2024 08:58 AM

Yeah, there's been some instances of Taylor messing up. But guys are just bull rushing Smith right now and it's working. Some of it is on Taylor but it sure as shit isn't all of the problem. People are just more willing to make excuses for Smith.

Dunerdr 12-09-2024 08:59 AM

Exactly, when those quick passes came out last night and Pat knew where to go with it without really thinking it looked great. When Pat holds it to look downfield is when horrible horrible things happen. We don't have the OL for Pat to hold it. We need way more calls with quick passing in mind, and besides one missed tackle on a slant and the WR gets 30+ yards. Also when I say quick passes I don't mean the 3 yard passes to the outside hashmarks that often result in negative yards, I mean attacks down the field.

The loss of Rice is also REALLY hurting the offense. The inability to burn the D with quick slants is a major handicap.

Every team we play is taking advantage of our O line. You think this week will be any different? Or the week after? Every week it’s a problem keeping Mahomes off the turf.
