Just give Mahomes 2 more seconds in the pocket, that's literally all he needs.

Well

I’m afraid we need to call up Donovan Smith now with Humphries already hurt.
Get all the reinforcements you can. |

Any word on his injury?

Hopefully it was a small issue.and fine now.

Sign 4 left tackles this week.
Not like we need WR's with no time to throw anyway. |

We might be in a real mess now.
Dude probably needed to play a half game to get the tree trunks primed up. |
I hope Donovan Smith is still in game shape.
|
Think he had cramps or a hammy from his first game

Myles Garrett next week.
Need to ensure that LT isn’t a turnstile if Humphries can’t go. |

I hate being a 12-1 team and also feeling like the house of cards is going to fall on us at any moment.

This is how Direkshun feels. His mom is like a Chiefs left tackle.
Chiefs Tackles are like turnstiles or doorknobs |

She's more like an All-Pro LT. She can take on multiple guys as once and ask for more. |

He didn’t look hurt to me. Looked like cramps. As for his play, against a tough opponent, I think he did fairly well.

Did no reporter think to ask?

Andy Reid made no mention of the injuries to D.J. Humphries and Joshua Williams in his postgame press conference. That's... a good sign? Of course he was rusty, he's a 320lb guy 11 months out from a torn ACL with a week and a half of practice going against Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack. But I saw glimpses, which is more than what Wayne and Kingsley were showing. |

Our media sucks donkey balls. Not a single one of them asked about the injury.

I thought DJ looked fine in the second half. Hope he just cramped up.
I think he's definitely a step up over Wanya, although I also hope Wanyas struggles are due in part to his lingering knee bruise |
Considering the time off, new team, and assignment, I think he did about as well as we could realistically had hoped for.
I doubt it’s anything too serious, based on Andy’s comment. Would be great to lock up the 1 early and let him get a break after a couple weeks of play. |
Wild they didn’t even ask about a top development like that.
|
Yeah looked almost as bad as Morris in the 1st quarter but then seemed to settle down.
|
Weird because he took his gloves and knee brace off knowing he wasn't going back in.
That's not gonna be the case with cramps in a high leverage situation. Props to Wanya for not completely shitting the bed. |
Get Big Dong Smith on the phone asap

DJ Humphries started off really bad, but then looked a lot better.

FWIW Harvey Williams said on his post-game show that he thinks Humphries just has leg cramps.

3rd and 10. Gave Mahomes some room.

good shit on coming back towards the ball and not letting mahomes down in a big moment of the game. very impressive @XavierWorthy pic.twitter.com/EGfKo8WanK
— ً (@cashout4kt) December 9, 2024
 |
It seemed like a lot of his mistakes were on handling stunts, which is not a surprise for how little he's even practiced with the team.

I can't tell you how good it made me feel to start that drive at the 40.
Then, to have third and 10 and the QB step up bigly. Both of those things are the inverse of what used to happen to the Chiefs in these moments. |
Maybe we sign Smith as insurance now? Would love to have both for the home stretch, as I’ve said before.

Guys, Donovan Smith is dead.
****ing drop it already. |
I'll await for word from Nate Taylor so I can believe the opposite
|
Hope he is ok.

I still stand by my post from a year ago-fly to Japan and bring back 3 or 4 of the best Sumo wrestlers, fit them for equipment and tell that Mahomes is the Emperor and protect him to death.
Problem solved. |

It's stupid as **** that this guy's hammy situation might determine our threepeat chances but here we are. He wasn't good last night but he will get better if he can keep playing, and I'd think by January he's not costing them games in any fashion. |
Needs more nanners.

Chargers gave us major fits along the OL in both games this year.
The bad news, they're a division rival and we could see them again in the playoffs. The good news, other teams haven't entirely replicated what they've done in other matchups. Yeah, we've had some DEs kill our LT, but gosh damn it seemed like the Chargers even have our interior's number too. |
Unfortunately the OL as a whole still sucked last night. 17 pressures and 3 sacks on 47 drop backs isn't going to get the job done. Pat really wasn't helping matters either.

I don't get it. |
Any updates on Humphries?

Trey Smith is still struggling. That just can't happen. The tackles are what they are but the IOL needs to step it up.

Taylor overcompensates to being beat up the arc and creates a huge gap leaving Smith to have to try to help while also blocking his assignment. |
Honestly guys, the Chargers have been taking advantage of our OL in unique ways for a few years now.
I still recall the 2022 TNF game at Arrowhead when they did the same shit, killing the entire front. That game made me question if we would be able to have a really good offense that year. Thankfully it was more of an outlier. |

Yeah, there's been some instances of Taylor messing up. But guys are just bull rushing Smith right now and it's working. Some of it is on Taylor but it sure as shit isn't all of the problem. People are just more willing to make excuses for Smith.
|
I really wish we'd work the quick passing game more to help these guys out. When we did we looked excellent. That two minute drive was a thing of absolute beauty.

I don't mean to say I'm an expert but my Hammy's are sore from installing those stupid year round Holliday lights for the wife yesterday. And I tore my ACL once. I'm sore but good to go now. WBF.
