There's a fairly solid chance that Tennessee loses to their first playoff opponent, giving the Chiefs HFA throughout. And if they don't? Bring on the revenge game. You think a pissed-off KC is going to let Tannehill beat them again with everything on the line? They'd be laser-focused for that game.
The silver lining to today's loss and others this season is that KC will have extra motivation to crush these teams in a rematch. You think that the Bengals are repeating this in Arrowhead in the postseason? Having that extra chip can be huge. I feel way better about a rematch with the Bills than I would have if KC had won three straight vs Allen.
Also....don't forget that many had thrown in the towel at 3-4. Many said this was an awful team that would be drafting in the top 10. And even later, as they started to string wins together, it was thought that they'd lost their mojo on offense. But over the last several weeks, they've looked like the Chiefs again and Mahomes has his swagger back.
Today was a setback for the D, but take away some of those untimely penalties that extended Cincy drives, plus Spags' 3rd and 27 call, and are we feeling badly about the D? I think we'd feel okay about it, aside from a few blown coverages.

However many there were that threw in the towel at 3-4, my stance was officially that they were using up their runway. Today was a setback, but it was also a consequence of bad luck when you are out of runway.
The future is still unwritten, the gravity of today was written early in the season. Accept it and wake up tomorrow resolved to improve.
