Simple - it’s highly likely that he and all his buddies were under the influence. They knew that sticking around and being detained in that state would be more problematic than leaving the scene.

So apparently, from all the speculative shit thrown about in this thread, he is following his lawyer's advice and saying exactly what he is told to say and nothing else to anyone including the Chiefs. He did something stupid but it sounds like he isn't dumb.

Yes, we have implied that since Sunday, but they walked away, but not taking the items with the extra 20 seconds it would have taken to grab them is weird.
