Being heavy handed to kids for speaking on social media is going to be viewed in the same light as suspending them for various indiscretions.

It's going to make him look like a red ass and it's going to hurt like hell when he's trying to get guys to play here. A coach can do that after he's established himself, but when you're trying to prove you can win at this level, you're not going to get anyone to come play for you if you are also playing the role of the draconian buzzkill that won't let his players (college kids) do what every other college kid in the country is doing..

Teenagers don't let you **** around with their social media. Now the blowback wouldn't be quite as bad, but it also wouldn't need to be given the level of recruiting that Mizzou needs to sustain.

It would absolutely have a chilling effect if it were to be done at all publicly. Now, if they quietly emphasize with position coaches that "hey, get your boys to chill a little bit" and let the position coaches handle it, that would probably work pretty well.

But Odom's in a new world here; he really does need to tread lightly, IMO.

Trying to censor kids sounds like a hella dumb idea.

Odom got the job Tuesday night. They interviewed his wife and kids on KRCG, kids said they had to stay home from school to avoid letting it leak.

The guy is a Mizzou troll and shouldn't be taken seriously by Mizzou fans for 1 second. As soon as someone said yesterday that he was "expecting Herman" it became obvious he was doing what he always does.
