Gonna be a fun ride this year....

Kansas 4-0. Kansas State 2-3. One of the "co"-champs is doing well. The other is a dumpster fire.

@rustindodd: Towson coach Pat Skerry: "Suffice to say they're pretty good ... if there's a better team in the country, I'd like to see who they are."

Neither are, but I don't know who I'd prefer.

I'm in awe of the talent that we know will stick around. Mason is the real deal. Every time I see Andrew White III shoot, I'm impressed, and knowing what Hudy will do with Lucas and Mickelson... damn.

There will be some damn good incoming freshman also.

Doh, just home ready to watch the game on ESPN3 and voila...they don't have it listed...wtf?

Nah, usually right after like mere minutes.

Imon Yourside 11-22-2013 10:04 PM

Ok it's up now, guess I just didn't have the patience. :D

EDITED

The link is there but it times out with an error.

What a first half that was. That's what this team can/could be when it actually plays defense consistently. They'll absolutely destroy opponents in transition once they get some stops. One of the best attributes of this team so far is just how well they clean up on the boards (particularly Embiid but also Ellis and Wiggins), so once they force a few more bad shots they'll really get rolling.

It's amazing how in control Wiggins is despite his lack of inexperience (he plays almost like a senior rather than a 4 game freshman). Tonight, during the few times he covered Benimon, Towson's best player, he was notably able to stop him (which nobody else on the team could do), emphasizing again his defensive potential as a stopper. With every game he plays, he continues to prove what a smart, efficient, and multifacted player he is. It's very impressive to see these characteristics in a prospect this early in his college career.

But Embiid in that game (and particularly the first half). Guys with his skill set, vision and size are just so rare. What a ridiculous prospect.

Far more likely it will be Embiid (considering his massive ceiling) or Wiggins (who might already be their best player considering all his on-court contributions).

I mentioned how Wiggins plays in control earlier, but Mason is much the same way. Crazy to think they're just 4 games into their college careers.

I'd rather have Selden leave simply because a true center is a harder position to fill. And he's only going to get better, faster, and stronger.

WhiteIII is straight up ballin' right now and he's going to get better. Oubre is coming on board next season. Plus you have Greene and Frankamp.

It was pretty subdued tonight in the fieldhouse. Several bluehairs in our row left at halftime. Full but pretty laid back.
