Cant believe people are arguing over a backup QB. hehe....these guys are backup QBs for a reason. Most teams in the league will be in trouble if their starter goes down. There just isnt enough QB talent to fill the league. Im sure Daniels might be ok for a game or two, but hes at where hes at for a reason.

I don't know what guys really expect from backup QBs. A bunch of starting QBs suck, so why exactly do you think ANY team would be in good shape if they had to start their backup QB? It's not like the Falcons are like, "If Matt Ryan goes down, at least we have Dominique Davis!" |

Your original statement was that you wanted Daniel off the roster in favor of Bray as the #2. Bray, IMO, needs a few years of development and maturity. Throwing him into a pressure situation, something in which he couldn't handle at Tennesee, could be career threatening. Daniel has spent four years as a back up in a similar system. He should be able to play well enough for the Chiefs to stay competitive in Smith's absence. If he's unable to keep the Chiefs competitive, he'll need to be replaced. |

Got it. |
If I had to grade the quarterbacks from the time I was there and didn't figure the surrounding talent into the equation...
Alex Smith b+ Chase Daniel c Tyler Bray a Ricky Stanzi d+ |
I'll never trust a QB who loves picks

Where we differ is whether or not Daniel can win games for the Chiefs if Alex has to miss some time here or there. I'm more pessimistic about that happening than you are, I suppose. |

There's no reason to think that a 5-foot-10 QB who has never played meaningful NFL football and sucks in training camp will continue to suck in the NFL.
None whatsoever. |
I'd sit Bray this year, though.
But next year should be an open competition for the starters job unless Alex Smith rapes faces. |

Bray really needs time to develop and become accustomed to NFL coaching and NFL pressure. He had issues at Tennessee, which contributed to his fall. I don't think anyone questions his athleticism and arm strength. |
