Not trying to be a jerk, but let's wait until the numbers come out before we make up our minds.

The US-England matchup drew 13 million (or 17 million, depending on the source), 9 million against Algeria, yet the national average per match is 3.35million.

The US ratings are pulled up when the US is playing by an average of 5 to 13 million. Do the math, and the World Cup is going to take a gigantic drop in ratings in the US.

I appreciate the fact that you love and support soccer. It's a great thing, but let's stick to hard facts rather then lean toward emotion.

I'd also like to add that the ratings for the entire series are up not just the US games.

I haven't followed this thread so I don't know if you are a soccer fan or troll. All I know is that I've followed soccer closely for 30 years now and it's in a better place than it was even ten years ago as far as support and being accepted on a world stage.

There will always be redneck bigots who will not only not pay to watch but will not support in any way a sport that is equally dominated by brown people as white ones.

**** em.

it doesn't matter

espn didn't pay for the rights based on the US getting out of the quarters

the interest the us team generated with it's cardiac kids type play was beyond any espn suit's wildest fantasy

it's already been a huge win for espn in terms of ratings, and i bet they are thrilled to death with the investment....

the Talking Can 06-27-2010 08:32 AM

germany 2-0

they are destroying england...england shows no heart

wish there was a pub cam in london...

DJay23 06-27-2010 08:33 AM

100% agree.

The network that does own the rights were drooling at the thought of the US going to the Semi's. It was all lined up for the US to move on, but they just didn't have what it takes.

Damnit.

DJay23 06-27-2010 08:38 AM

Nice header. So is this what it looks like when your forwards finish?

DJay23 06-27-2010 08:38 AM

As far as this redneck I don't watch soocer because I find it boring and the flop fake injury crap is a joke.
