If KU wins this league it will prove this league blows nutsack

Well I've heard several national taking heads say not playing the top recruits like Diallo is hurting them with future recruits. They point out next years horrible recruiting class to prove their point.

Self must hate Diallo and Bragg. It's so weird

KU is going to have to run the table in the 12 with the exception of the OU game, we just are not winning that game. Don't see us winning that game or the Tx game, crap the other road games will be tough enough!

OU has to lose at least 2 more games for a B12 tie if we only lose 1 more. Maybe @ WV and @ Tx ?

He hates Mickelson alot more than Bragg, that is the really perplexing part.

Ya know, back when KU won their last championship, everybody marveled about how Self was doing a great job of recruiting guys that would stick around at least 3 -4 years, that having the mixture of experience paid off in the championship game.

Oh how the the tide has turned.

Oh how the the tide has turned.

We always had a rim protector or some big time guy down low we could rely on.

Ellis can score the basketball but is very enigmatic. Plays very soft and almost no defense.

Losing Danny Manning as a coach clearly has impacted us big time if you ask me. He was the one responsible for developing the bigs.

I feel like ever since he has left we haven't really developed guys well at the big spots.

I was really expecting more out of guys like Lucas, Traylor at this stage in their career. I was expecting Ellis to eventually be stronger as a player given he's a 20th year senior. (Sorry had to throw the age joke in) No toughness, mentally or physically.

Hows that working out for us this year? College BB has changed from 2008.

I think in 2016 the best formula to succeed in the tournament is you need at least 1 NBA lottery pick player and some surrounding experienced players.

I won't dispute this but keep in mind, every major college programs go through the cycle of players. Which schools have the most scholarships, who can give up the most minutes played to a player to get his commitment.

The Dukes, UNC, UK's, MSU, KU's, any school out there goes through the carousel of getting players into the program. Some work out, some do not, you just are not going to land the top players year in and year out and meet every fan's expectations.

At the end of the day, we are still talking about kids! Kids that have to mature, learn right from wrong, continue to advance far enough to get separation from other talented kids.

That's EXACTLY what we had with the McLemore and Wiggins teams

McLemore's team in 2011-2012 definitely should have won that Michigan game and competed in the Final Four. They were pretty damn good.

Since the Wiggins year, we haven't had any long-term challengers to Perry Ellis and his bullshit.

That's the biggest thing... having someone to clean up the mistakes on both ends. Of course, it would help if they weren't so freakin' soft.

Self loses Saturday, there will be hell toupee.

Oh that's right, that's our Super Bowl. A meaningless non-conference home game in the middle of January.

That Michigan game was pretty crushing. Damn Trey Burke and his 30 foot fluke shots.

There's really nothing wrong with recruiting 3-4 year types. We've had plenty of very good ones over the years (Chalmers, Sherron, Aldrich, TRob, Tyshawn, Withey, etc.) and they've aided us greatly. You just better make sure you get the right ones, though, and not the Ellis/Selden soft as Charmin types. Otherwise, you get stuck in situations like we're in now. It's clear that Perry could have a good, long pro career somewhere (not in the NBA clearly, but Europe perhaps), but he's never going to guard anybody.

They were obviously caught looking ahead in the 2nd half last night. Classic tarp game.

I agree. Thats the system that will work. Doesn't guarantee a damn thing. We are just discussing the best path to give you the best chance to be successful in the tournament.
