****. Wasn't any easier. The 3 minute jog nearly kills me. Made it through, though.

Sweet I'm gonna go sit on my ass then :)

Pain is weakness leaving the body.

Saw that on a guy's water bottle at the gym the other day and dug it.

NewChief 05-05-2010 06:10 PM

Speaking of pain and weakness. I went up to working sets of snatch, press, swings with a 28kg kettlebell. Holy mother, I'm worked. I'd been doing my first low rep set with a 28, but today I did my second set with it as well, which has more reps in it. Just that difference kicked my ass.

I've been sitting here relaxing while the kids play, and I just got up to start getting them ready for bath and realized that my body is freaking wrecked.

Train to the point of near death. Rest. Repeat.

5 Nutrition Myths that are Sabotaging Your Weight Loss Goals

Myth #1 – A good weight loss programs needs to be complicated, with calorie cycling and special charts and graphs telling what to eat and when to eat based on your specific metabolic type / blood type / birth stone / horoscope sign.

FACT: A true weight loss plan does NOT have to be complicated. In fact, the simpler the program the better the results will be. The more restrictive the diet, the more likely it will fail you.

Myth #2 – You must be in total control of what you eat. After all, weight loss comes from WHAT you eat, not HOW MUCH you eat.

FACT: Fact: The bottom line is that to lose weight you MUST create a caloric deficit (Eat less calories than you burn off). As soon as you find a simple way to eat less calories you’ve won the battle, stressing over special ways to eat and special types of food to eat will NOT improve your weight loss.

Myth #3 – Intermittent Fasting is only for young people and it’s just another type of diet fad

FACT: Fact: Flexible Intermittent Fasting is supported by a large amount of research and is effective for many people of all different ages and walks of life. From professional fitness models to 53 year old Doctors, an amazing amount of people are switching to the Eat Stop Eat lifestyle every day.

Myth #4 – Some macronutrients are better than others for weight loss, because of the effect they have on rare or recently discovered ‘fat burning hormones’.

Fact: Fat is not BAD, protein really isn’t that special, and carbohydrates are perfectly fine to eat, even sugar!

Myth #5 - You lose significant amounts of muscle if you don’t eat every two to three hours.

FACT: You will not lose muscle if you miss a meal. In fact, you won’t even lose muscle if you miss an entire day of meals as long as you follow a well designed workout plan.

The bottom line is that weight loss does not have to be frustrating, complicated or involve secret combinations of foods.

ok, here at the gym, just finished my arms, shoulders and pecs and umm, uhh, forearms etc....

Now, off to the ab routine.

So, I consumed 1000 calories yesterday. Considering I fasted yesterday, that's disgusting. However I ate some frozen yogurt last night and that's what pushed it so high. That and the very necessary protein shake I drank after lifting yesterday morning. Whatever though.

1300 calories today. Provided I don't eat for the rest of the night, that is full of win. 1300 calories today consisted of half of a Starbuck's skinny latte, 2 Jack in the Box tacos, and tonight I bbq'd some ribs and made some mashed potatoes.

Yesterday at lunch, I had half of a grilled chicken club and a bowl of tortilla soup. Last night, I had a Fiber One bar. Today, I had a turkey sandwich and a soda. Not planning on eating again until tomorrow.

You are a diet and exercise machine.

I just got back from doing the bottom half of my weightlifting. So now I have worked everything I plan on doing. I did Arms, Chest and Back on Day 1. and today I did Legs, Glutes, and abs. Before both workouts I jogged for 20 minutes at a 5mph(12 minute mile) pace. Should I do arms again tomorrow or should I just do cardio and then repeat the cycle. Any ideas from anyone would be helpfull.

Mr. Flopnuts 05-05-2010 07:19 PM

Me personally, I do a full body workout 3 days a week. I'm a brand n00b weight lifter though, so that's what I was told made the most sense.

Other than that, I run a 12 minute mile pace myself and push out at least 3 days a week consisting of 1 long run (gets higher every week, this week is 6 miles) and then 2 three mile runs. I'm trying to push that total to 5 days a week, but only because I LOVE running. It helps that I burn more calories far and away vs. any other form of cardio.

Sorry I couldn't help with some advice, I just don't know much about it.

Okay, I am not getting the fasting thing. A person needs 3 meals & 2 snacks a day.
