Seconded. Stupidest idea ever...

Going a jail is a great thing when you're ahead in the game.

Dick, get a life quit making these football conspiracy threads.

That only makes sense if we trade a a couple 2nds for a mediocre QB first. It's a proven Super Bowl winning strategy, but only if we follow it to the letter.

Direckshun 03-24-2013 02:17 PM

I'd take a look at scoring a bargain for:

RB La'Rod Stephens-Howling
RB Felix Jones
RB Rashad Jennings
WR Julian Edelman
WR Darrius Heyward-Bey
OT Demetress Bell
C Dan Koppen
NT Alan Branch
DE Sedrick Ellis
OLB James Harrison
OLB Shaun Phillips
ILB Daryl Smith
ILB Nick Barnett
ILB Bart Scott
S Kerry Rhodes

Obviously not all of them, but we can easly grab three or four of them, I bet.

From another thread, this...

I still think that is a viable plan.

A 1st, 2nd, and conditional draft pick is really not to much to invest in the QB position.

The Giants gave up two 1st, a 3rd, and a 5th to get Eli.

The Redskins gave up three 1st's and a 2nd for RGIII.

The Raiders gave up a 1st and a 2nd for Carson Palmer.

JMO

EDIT: Money for 2013 would be around 13.5 million.

8.5 for Alex
4.0 for Geno (maybe a tad more, but that is what Luck got last year)
1.8 for Chase

In 2014 it could go as high as 17-18 million

9.0 for Alex
5.0 for Geno
3.4 for Chase

BUT, none of Alex's is guaranteed for 2014 so a lot of that money could be freed up next offseason.

...then spend our 2nd rounder on a LT.

Teams typically don't cut guys who they are still paying for in draft picks.

Direckshun 03-24-2013 02:21 PM

Seriously, if I had to invest in four players using that $10 million:

RB Rashad Jennings
WR Darrius Heyward-Bey
OLB Shaun Phillips
ILB Bart Scott

Andrew Luck got 4 million and some change last year at #1. Money should be around the same this year.
