I would too, although I think if they brought in Carl, Carl might be inclined to keep him.

At any rate, I was talking about "hopes". And I hope that Martyocre Shittenheimer is the coach there for a LONG time.

I was actually thinking that Carl would show Marty the door as his first order of business if he was going to San Diego. If I was going to GM the Chargers, that'd be my first official act.

It'd have to be weird to play in San Diego under Marty. It'd be like going into a time machine and coming out in 1967.

Marty's come that far since he left the Chiefs?

Get 'er done, Vermeil.

Penalties are going to subside. Priest is going to keep doing what he's doing plus catch more passes. Gonzo is going to keep doing what he's doing. Hall is going to start getting us even better field position. Green is going to start connecting with Priest, Gonzo, Morton and Horn. Defense is going to continue to improve. 11 and 5 and SB bound. :thumb:
Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what I think.

And finally, I hope Peterson goes to San Diego to re-team with Marty.

Then what? More than likely Lynn Stiles becomes the GM and Al Saunders becomes the head coach.... I have never really been in any hurry to turn this team over to Saunders. I guess that's because I fear having Mike Martz, Part II, but we'll find out before too long... no reason to speed up the process.

No reason to speed up the process? Are we so afraid of change that we're willing to sit here and spin our wheels indefinitely?

I don't think it's that cut and dried.

I think there's a good chance that Lamar will go outside the organization if Carl steps down. In fact, I think he might just hand the reigns over to Clark...

I just don't think so, why would Lamar do that? Lamar's got his people, I don't see him going outside the box.... he's paying Al Saunders 1 million dollars to be his offensive coordinator. If Saunders isn't the next coach why is Lamar spending the money to keep him here?

Because Carl told him to.

Lamar has zero to do with how much coaches get paid. He sets the ceiling, Carl doles out the dollars.

Wow, you are very optimistic! I hope we can win as many as four games this year with the tough schedule we have. Maybe San Diego at home but that is not a given.
