Yep. The roofing industry gets it slammed in hard and dry. Thanks to insurance companies classifying all constuction fall injuries/deaths as roofing accidents we get fucked on workman's comp as well.

Lucky for the consumer, it will all get passed on and roof prices will double in the next ten years.

why not get a whole bunch of small business together and provide an opportunity to spread the risks over a larger population.

No thanks, pretty soon this Baby Boomer will be retiring, that is my next career move. The social security benifits will cover my green fees if you keep paying like you should please. ROFL

Good to hear buddy. I just wanted to be first one to say "Quit your bitching switch careers if you don't like it." but hopefully you will be on easy street pretty soon

CoMoChief 04-21-2005 02:55 PM

I agree, something needs to be done.

Great idea! In fact, the NHBA has already thought of it. Oh wait, roofing contractors aren't covered. :sulk:

Yeah, God knows that generation did not carry the water for you before you were an income earner, fuck em.ROFL

You do realize that the baby boom generation is so huge that if you exclude them your health care benefits are going to go up astronomically because the young healthy (as you describe it) class is too friggen small.

Good advice to switch careers, I have done it quite a few times. The problem is really getting out of hand though for small businesses like JspChief's and the others. When you consider this insurance issue, OSHA and EPA. Pretty soon this thread is going to end up in D.C. so I had better shut up. STFU

No "generation" ever gave me a penny. My PARENTS took care of me until I was out on my own. I'm fine with taking care of my parents (though I seriously doubt I'd need to). Hell, I'd be fine paying for my grandmothers' care.

As for the baby boomer group being so huge, I fail to see how having a huge group of people sucking on the system that is currently partially funded by (but will soon enough be entirely funded by in the case of socialist insecurity ) a class that is "too friggin small" makes it MORE solvent or LESS expensive.

Because about 2/3 of the Baby Boomer generation is still working (it runs through 1965) and many will be for another 20 years. Hell I will be working for another 10 to 12 and I was born in 55. So you think all those kids out there when you were growing up did not need medical insurance? Do you let your kids go uninsured?

Look at the generation before the boomers. The differences should be obvious. Now look at the spawn the boomers produced. Starting to get the idea?

:cuss:

So what what evidence do I present to support my case? I have my own health coverage for my company (a group plan). The first year our coverage went up the maximum allowed 9%. This year the cap is off and it's going up 13%. Now, does anyone else think that medical costs have gone up 21% in two years? Didn't think so. So, where is that money going? Extra programs for the gimme generation, bulls**t like "Silver Sneakers", where indigents and old farts can get together and work out at my expense. F**K THEM. Let them wrinkle up and die.

I want a plan that is exclusive to young, healthy people. I'm sick and f**king tired of carrying the water for other people. I just got off the phone with my broker. Typically when a new plan is introduced the costs are significantly lower to get people to sign up. If I can't find one of those I'm going catastrophic coverage only and paying out of pocket for every visit.

All you people (especially illegal immigrants) who are sucking the life out of the health care industry can suck my ass.

PS, any of you dumb f**ks out there that think getting the govt. involved is the answer can latch on afterwards.

Um.....wasn't Bush supposed to address term 1? ROFL People are so dumb sometimes.
