As a "Real" Chiefs fan I can honestly say that doing the job you were suppose to do doesnt warrant praise. Every team in the AFC West and 18 other NFL teams, including two expansion teams have been to the Super Bowl in the King Carl era. 12 years without a playoff win. Not worthy of praise if you ask me.

I gave him props earlier on other threads but he deserves one more. Great job Carl. You have done more than ever this off season and I am absolutely thrilled.

I have nothing to be sorry about because I've not been a part of the bashing. I do find the timing of this trade interesting though. After Carl made the "real fan" blunder, I think his PR people told to to go ahead and do the deal or his reputation would get even worse. I'm not sure he would of done it otherwise.

Because our offense is long in the tooth and the window of opportunity to win a Super Bowl is closing fast this was a solid move but Surtain is 29 years old and has been bothered by his knee...With the exception of the real freak Darrell Green, no top CB stays at a high level much beyond 31 to 32 years old. This has a tremendous chance of being a very expensive band aid.
