We need to load up for a run THIS YEAR. |
this point is moot...as all three of the aforementioned worthy WR's will be gone by 15 anyways...which is good for us because Williamson climbing up the charts recently now leaves one of the top 3 CB's available.

The year before last, when mixed in intelligently, he excelled. Some of those screen passes were just insane. He is too slippery and explosive to have returning kicks only. You've gotta mix him in on at least 10 offensive snaps per game with 5 or 6 of those with him just being in there as a decoy and 4 or 5 times getting him the ball. I realize he is not a true reciever, but he is a threat to go to the house anytime he touches the ball. Saunders just needs to try and not make it so obvious when he uses him. |

Well I am all for defense and trying to win it this year but the reason why WR is badly needed is simple...As soon as this O Line falls apart, which is soon with a Shields and Roaf retirement nearing, we won't run the ball any where near the way we do now and when that happens our passing game won't be opened wide up to where we can get by with 2nd and 3rd rate type of players like Morton and Kennison. At that point we will need legitimate play makers out there to keep from looking like Baltimore's passing game.

I do agree with you and easy81 about the one year window, but what rookie will enable us to win a SB? If DJ is there, I would want him, but no other LB is worth the 15th pick. A CB will probably be a nickle for most of the year. And a DE would fight it out with Allen/Hicks. DV just doesn't seem to have a track record for putting in rookies from the get go. Now don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind a D player at all, but I would think that a lesson was learned about not paying attention to one side of the ball. I guess it would just be nice if we could trade down, pick up a LB at the bottom of the first and then a WR/OL with the 2nd(hopefully) that we would get in return. |
