No way Lawson is undersized. At 6'5"/240, he's the same size as Freak and Jason Taylor when they came into the league. He should be able to bulk up to 265 and eventually be an adequate run defender.

Robert Mathis is 6'2"/235. I rest my case.

Supposedly he is already near 260. The question is, does he still have the quickness at the higher weight.

He ran the fastest DL 40 at the combine.

As of the combine, his highest weight was 247. FYI, Lawson was voted most valuable NC State defensive lineman.

I agree he's an great athlete for a man his size. IIRC, some of the places I've seen question whether a few big games skewed his stats (which you could say for a lot of players I think.) Some seemed to question his every down, every game commitment. If those doubts are well-founded, I say they are a red flag. If not, then bring him on if he's there at 20.

It's just that I've become leary of guys who fly up the charts because of the workouts and the combine, when their entire college career is sometimes seemingly forgotten. I don't know that to be the case with Lawson, but I've seen it suggested a few times.

I'm so ready to wake up at 10:55 on Saturday and click on the T.V. and watch the draft all day long. Been waiting on this since the end of the season.

Yup. It's been a long wait too, given CP's lack of FA activity. :banghead:

We are having a Draft party; a pony keg, buffalo wings, fajitas, chili, and other munchies. Strippers arrive at 7 pm.
