I think that's a little different......this situation compared to something like the Debra LaFave thing are totally different. Plus it affects males and females differently I know being a young male if I was 14-15 and a female teacher and I did that sort of thing I don't think it would have traumatised me at all.

Aside from that I found the starter post to be interesting. I do not have the statistics in front of me but I would be willing to bet crimes of this nature have gone down the last few years as a lot of crime has even though the perception is opposite because of the media attention payed to such acts.

I think the nature of our media outlets has made this kind of thing "seem" to happen more.

This used to be shocking but anymore it's just really sickening...

I wish we'd be shocked by something like this but we are past that point, unfortunately.
