I know you've probably heard this way too many times to count, but would you let an 8, 9, 10 year old read the 5th or 6th book of the series? I probably would a 10 year old, but then consider all of the parents who get pissed off because they think they're buying a children's book and their kids get nightmares. Pussification of the country, sure, but putting that label on the series is just stupid now.

The Potter series is far from a "Childrens Book". The entire thing will be studied for years and be evaluated at many literary levels.

The good news is its a great read!

Absolutely. I read far worse stuff before I was 10, mainly in the Bible.

I said they were children's books. I didn't say I didn't enjoy them. I do. I've read all of them twice. But at some point, at least for me, getting wrapped up in "what-ifs" passes the point of reading for enjoyment.

Better yet, she wins the Miss Universe pageant, shares a New York townhome with Miss USA and Miss Teen USA, french kisses them in trendy nightclubs in between snorts of cocaine, and winds up becoming Mrs. Donald Trump No. 4.
