Edmond is a nice area. Quail Springs Mall right down the road hires lots of college students.

If you like outdoors, there's a sportsman's warehouse there that sells hunting, fishing, and camping stuff. I'd put in early for it if I were interested and looking.

I will be living in the Highlands...right next to that mall. So I'm really wanting to look for jobs around that area. Where's the Sportsman's warehouse? Is it near the Highlands?

SW is between Quail Springs mall and the Kilpatrick Turnpike on the Penn ST side.

Here's a link to their web site, it has employment info on it - though nothing listed currently for OKC

Thanks for the info. I looked on that website also, I'll keep checking it ou and seeing if one opens. Working in a sporting goods store would be pretty cool.

You do know that the UCO mascot is the Broncho??? Yes the spelling is correct. Went there myself in the mid 90's. Awesome four years. I worked at Sears at Quail Springs in Lawn and Garden and averaged about $12 per hour while I was in school. Not bad. There is a Lowes and a Home Depot within 5 minutes of the UCO campus. I hear the pay is not too bad at all. I would stay away from the likes of Wal-mart and Target. I am not knocking them it's just the starting hourly wages aren't good at all. I would definitely try and set up some work before you get down there. Shows some initiative...

PM me if you want to know anything about UCO life, etc. I went greek and would highly recommend it for anyone from out of town.

I don't go to Edmond itself too much, but we usually go to the north side of the city when we go. When all you have in town is a K-Mart that has an empty place on the shelf were the stuff you need is supposed to be - and it's usually about 15-20% higher than anywhere else, you make a fair amount of trips to the city. AND it takes us about as long to get to OKC as it used to take for us to get to the closest Walmart when we lived in KS.

The Quail Springs has a lot of what we look for in a small area, Sams, Walmart, Mall - with a Sears, Home Depot, Texas Roadhouse, Etc. Everywhere else in OKC is spread out more.

I guess the biggest difference is our weathermen are good enough to see where they are going to hit in time for camera crews to get pics.
