I got rid of Norton because Spy Sweeper flat out does more to protect my computer. Norton rarely found anything when I ran it and the sweeps took too long.

El Jefe 04-27-2007 09:56 PM

Ok, in response to Mecca I just got into doing stuff on the computer last year. I mean like internet forums and crap like that so I havent really had any with Norton.

Mecca 04-27-2007 09:59 PM

Well I refuse to pay for an anti-virus.....or spyware programs for that matter.

El Jefe 04-27-2007 10:07 PM

Sam Hall, I agree the sweep times are ridiculous on Norton. What is the best in your opinion Mecca?

Mecca 04-27-2007 10:12 PM

I use Avast........haven't had any virus problems. I think several other people on this board also use it.

El Jefe 04-27-2007 10:13 PM

Ok interesting I will have to do a little research on it. Thank you sir.

Eric 04-27-2007 10:14 PM

Use AOL antivirus. It's free. Picks up 98% of viruses.

http://www.activevirusshield.com/ uses Kapersky which is toprated in the world.

Avast is overrated.

Norton = overrated.

El Jefe 04-27-2007 10:17 PM

Ok sweet thanks I will look at that too. I have been to say the least, displeased with Norton because its not cheap and it barely does its job.

I think that a backdoor Trojan is intended to protect against viruses.

Oh. On a computer? Nevermind.
