If you like diagonal, move to St. Louis. You won't know where the hell you're going, but at least the sun won't be in your eyes.
On the other hand, I70 before and after... http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r...at2002/I70.jpg |
But Rainman, that won't work. Nope, not at all.
You see, the sun is to our south all the time so those going SE and SW would STILL have problems with the sun. You just have to keep moving in a basically northward direction or avoid driving at certain times of the day. Oh, I know! Night time driving only! You never have to worry about your visors or sunglasses that way! |

Hmm, traffic in Atlanta is going to be a bear. We might need to make some changes. And I guess that Chicago-Albuquerque highway should go all the way to Tucson. |

When I lived in South Dakota, we were traveling to the West Coast about once every three months, interstate 80 across Nebraska and Wyoming to Salt Lake City. We discovered the first time that in order to make the best use of the sun in the rearview mirror was to leave about two hours before sunset, so we could go down I-29 to Omaha, and head west on I-80 at dusk and drive all night across Nebraska and Wyoming.
Worked for me when I was younger, and we could drive for 24 hours straight. |
