I have to take skill over need. The Rams select DT Glenn Dorsey.

Adam Carriker and Glenn Dorsey might make one of the best young and upcoming DT combos in the game. I was thinking of LT Jake Long when looking at their O-Line, but the value of DT and Dorsey's pure skill level made it too hard to pass up on.

You guys are going to purposely make me take Jake Long aren't you....

jiveturkey 03-03-2008 04:32 PM

Atlanta choses - Matt freakin' Ryan.

A new face for the org.

If "Oakland" takes Sedrick Ellis, then yes, they purposely have weaseled you into Jake Long. :)

Or, I suppose you could take Cromartie, since you didn't get him last year I mean...

Well considering Howie Longs kid here is for the Raiders to pick...

If may just fall that way. We could pick alot worse players at 5. I think we'll have a long decision between Ellis and Long at 5. Ellis may edge him out. Either way, we will have a better player at one of those positions than we did before the draft-that's a win-win in my book. Don't **** it up, Mecca.:D

LOL, I just think Jake Long is going to the Rams so I was a little surprised, also with the 3-4 rumors there I don't think Dorsey fits all that well.

I would take Chris Long over Jake Long as well. Atlanta's pick wasn't in when I posted, kinda figured Chris Long would have gone there. But that would be a BPA move that Blank prolly won't allow anyway. I don't see Gholtsen going #1.

ChiefsCountry 03-03-2008 04:55 PM

The Oakland Raiders take Chris Long, DE Virginia

ROFL

I might as well just put Sedrick Ellis on the board.

JBucc 03-03-2008 05:00 PM

Going pretty fast so far. Don't forget to PM the next person after you pick.

ChiefsCountry 03-03-2008 05:01 PM

BigChiefFan screwed my pick up. I was going to draft Sedrick Ellis for the Raiders, but not taking Long made me go BPA.

Mecca 03-03-2008 05:07 PM

Well lets see with this pick......the Chiefs select Sedrick Ellis out of USC.

This is a best player on the board pick but coupled with the fact that Donnie Edwards may play MLB now it becomes a heavy need pick or Donnie may die getting hit by guards. Ellis can he everything that Sapp was to Tampa Bay, this is a man who made Rey Maualuga who is very talented in his own right, able to run free very play and look like one of the best LB's in college football since his freshman year.

The first pick in rebuilding the team goes to the most valuable position in the cover 2 defense, a vaunted DT with excellent pass rush skills.

Sfeihc 03-03-2008 05:09 PM

shocker, LOL. good explanation of your pick. you got off easy.
