You might also have them check what other stores carry.. If you lived in KC I would just have you come talk to me and I would see what clearance deals we had.. We literally have 30+ older brand new models at our store.. I try and sell them and give people good deals instead of dealing with rebates..

I would just ask one of the managers or associates next time you are in there that you are interested in their clearance items from last fall.. Hopefully one of them is nice enough to go look for you..

You can also try getting me a store number and I might be able to look next time I work if I remember to check CP..

I wish I still lived in KC based on your kind offer. I am in SF. I can travel to San Mateo, San Jose, Walnut Creek, Fairfield, Sacramento for a great deal. How do I find store numbers?

I want a 14" for the travel - weight issues. If it were my only computer (ie college kid in a dorm rom) I would want a bigger computer.

Any deals on 14's in Nor Cal?

with vista you need at least twice that .... if not 4 times as much.

From my experiences with my own laptops, 512 is somewhat tolerable in XP but if you plan to typically have more than one application open at a time 1gb is pretty needed. With vista 1gb is pretty painful and with how low memory prices are these days if your laptop will take it I would just upgrade to 3-4gb with after market chips.

1gb of ddr2 runs about 30dollars brand new, so it would cost you 60 bucks to run 2gbs in a laptop.. And if you were lucky enough to get a laptop that ran 4gb those ****ing 2gb chips jump up to hundred dollars..

Seems like most laptops these days will run 4gb with vista. 2gb chips are pretty damn cheap now and you can easily get two of them for roughly $80 or less if you hunt for a deal.

Stores 242, 253, 240, 238 and 232 are within 30 minutes from me. The are others a little further if none of those have any.

I am very appreciative of your efforts. 2 of the giftcards came yesterday. I am expecting the other 2 today or tomorrow so I hope to buy it this weekend.

Man I am sorry, my codes are not letting me view their inventories.. My codes are only letting me view my region.. If my DM comes in I can see if he can check, but you might just be stuck into seeing IF somebody is nice enough to look over in Cally..

Yeah the ones at CC are clearance models from older models that never sold because of how fast newer models came out.. IE brand new laptops/desktops that were mainstream models not budget models that started out cheap..

I went to the local CC and it took a while but a Manager finally came in and pulled the list. They didnt have anything at that store that I was interested in. At the SF store they had a laptop for 699 instead of 899. It seemed similiar to the model that was in the sunday circular for 699 which was 180 off.

I bought one on the web last weekend on the web and cancelled it because I was afreaid they wouldn't credit my charge card back when I received my gift cards. The firedog people called last Fri and asked if I still wanted it. My 3 year old was screaming so I wasnt able to ask if he would give it to me for 699 which it was when I bought it, but is now 749.

This is the clearance model (Toshiba Satellite M205S4806.) I will probably go with this if they dont give me the Toshiba Fusion M305-S4819. The Fusion has 50 more gigs on the hard drive.

The circular has the HP Pavilion dv2810us which has 3 g of ram which is nice but the wifi is only g.

I figure I can but 2 g of ram for $50 and add it to the other laptops.
