Just a thought.

As for the Wally World bit.... ITS WALMART! LMFAO

Do you realy think they give a flying fuck about what gets returned or not? All they will look at is the label fo the disk and call it good.

Agreed. Wouldn't have any trouble at all.

What a load of CRAP!!!!!

I have purchased several games from Ebay and HALF.com and NEVER had an issue with one of them. Now, the one we buy for his birthday is the one that doesn't work.

NEVER AGAIN!!!

It's not eBay's fault that the disc doesn't work. eBay is just an auction/seller's site.

If the the seller is a Power Seller, then I'm sure you'll be taken care of properly.

Electronic items are often defective. It's the retailer's fault and I'm guessing you saved a substantial amount by purchasing on Ebay instead of through a "brick and mortar" retailer.

I'm sure your son understands.

Of course, I am also worried that if I go buy another copy and it doesn't work then I am in the hole for 2 games and not just one.

Any of your Topeka chaps be willing to let me try your copy in my machine so I can be certain a better copy will work before I fork out the money again?

Lzen?

Not blaming ebay.

And no he doesn't right now.

GURU, just sent you another PM. I wonder if this seller will still fix your problem. How long ago did you email him about this?

Emailed him at 4pm. He responded once within 2 minutes and I emailed my answer to his question. He has not emailed since.:banghead:

Holy Shit, the guy hasnt returned your emails in like 6 hours and you start to freak out? It's ebay dude, if you want to be able to solve stuff on your own time you gotta buy from a retailer.

There's a reason ebay is cheaper.

No, I am frustrated because he returned my first email within 2 minutes and then no response on the second. Seems really odd to me.

I am "freaking out" because it is the first time I have had a problem with my 360 and I am hoping that it is NOT a console problem. Lzen is working with me to help dispell that theory though. So hopefully, by the end of the week, I won't have to worry about it too much.

Try this.

<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/vE1gvaM3iAs&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/vE1gvaM3iAs&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

Not that I doubt it works, but it would help if he didn't take the CD off camera right before he revealed it.

I would be more likely to just pay 3 bucks for the trade shop to clean it for me though. My situation is not a scratch issue though. IMO The minor scratch is barely even noticeable. I have another disk with a much more prevelant scratch that runs fine.

I emailed him back telling him that I cleaned the disk and removed the sticker. He has not responded since.

As far as the Walmart option... I don't think I can consider that since there is a minor scratch on the disc and any associate worth their grain of salt should be able to notice that.

It doesn't matter. They won't bitch, and they will do the return. I promise.

ebay is an electronic garage sale / flea market. That huge discount in your cost is due to things like a lack of customer service. I'd be happy you got the first email response. I only use ebay when I can't locate items cost effectively from a corporate outlet, BECAUSE I want the benefits of customer service and problem resolution that is not often available from some guy in his apartment selling used software.

Looks like that may just be a bad disc. Was it already used? or brand new? it could also be that the guy that is selling them, got a hold of a batch that some were good and some were not and you just got the game that was not good.

Sure hoping so. I will probably no more tonight. Lzen is going to loan me his disc while his box is in the shop. If it doesn't work, then I guess I know the problem. Seems odd that a drive would only dislike ONE single game though.

The Rock Band forums seem to be loaded with people having disc read errors as well though.

Here is the response I got from him....

We check the game before we ship & put the warranty sticker. Please go ahead and send the game back to the address below with a note inside which has your ebay user id, the auction number and the reason for the return. Once we receive the item we will take care of the exchange/return. Please make sure warranty sticker is intact. You can ship us by usps first class 6oz.

TAMPER/SAFETY SEAL(S) ARE PLACED ON THE ITEM ITSELF, IF THE TAMPER SEAL(S) ON THIS ITEM! NO EXCEPTIONS M IS REMOVED OR BROKEN, ALL SALES WILL BE FINAL.

Talk about a complete contradiction considering I removed the little "white sticker" (how I could have known it was a "tamper seal" is beyond me) because I felt the sticker was causing the problem due to other past experiences with DVDs. I told him in my previous email that the sticker was removed. A reasonable reason as well.

After really looking the disk over there is a crack right in the center of it that is probably the problem and he is unwilling to provide any care. Great customer service there.
