I tend to think making a judgement on lineman after 1 year is a little on the crazy side. I do think Tank has a better chance than Turk though.

you're not talking about an experience left tackle, your talking about a guy who's a rookie and who played only right guard in college

footwork is all different 4 weeks might as well be 4 months in his development

Here’s the criteria for calling for Herm’s head:

1. Tamba Hali has to be a bust in his third season. Hali was Herm’s first draft pick. He’s supposed to be a good pass rusher, a guy who can get to the QB a dozen times a season. He should be a big-play defender this season.

2. Jarrad Page and Bernard Pollard have to be flops. Herm led us to believe these two safeties would be the next Deron Cherry and Lloyd Burruss. Well, they may not be Jerome Woods and Reggie Tongue.

3. Tank Tyler and Turk McBride must fail. We were led to believe Tank and Turk might be the next Dan Saleaumua and Joe Phillips. Right now, they’re Junior Siavii and Eddie Freeman.

The only way Whitlock believes Herm should be fired is if just about every draft pick from the first two years of Herm's KC tenure end up being a bust this year.

I think the better question is which assistant coaches will Herm fire at the end of the year when the Chiefs finish with 5 or less wins.

It won't matter. The Pats will clobber by us by at least 30 points, so why risk him?

well, there goes the season..

/sarcasm off

Nor do I.

Oh, and remind me just how the Chiefs managed to land the services of Phillips and Big Daddy Dan.

High draft picks? Huge stars in year 1 and 2 of their careers?

Nein.

The Chicago Bears already moved John Tait to left tackle once, and it's worth wondering whether they'll do it again. Rookie Chris Williams sat out for the 10th straight day with a back injury, spoiling the Bears' goal of having him on the field for practice Sunday. The first-round draft pick is the biggest part of the planned reshuffling for the offensive line, and without him in the mix, Plan B is looking more necessary by the day.

I'm trying to figure how Dorsey being an injury risk can come as a huge shocker.

That was the story from day one. He was banged up coming in and the idea was that even if he needed surgery and missed most of the season his upside was worth it.

StcChief 08-04-2008 09:28 AM

Let Albert heal until Faider week. Dorsey know issues with injury at LSU...

his upside remains to be seen. hind sight always 20-20 or better.
