For next year, not much is coming off the books, so this figure remains. A player like Dunn would probably cost around 15 and Sabathia is going to be around 20.

There's no way in hell, as much as I'd love to see it, that KC's payroll is going from 60 to 95 mil. Could it or should it? That's a different argument. Will it? No. So don't get too bent out or shape when we don't land two front-line FA's. If we land one, I'd be thrilled. From here, the baseball folks will have to earn their money.

I'd put a power bat first, possibly Dunn and or Burrell.

Yeah, power would be nice. But I might just about break the bank for Sabathia. That much talent from the left side? Whoa. That's a ****ing dream, though. I think Teixeira might be even more realistic.

He's doing great of late, but he's 19. Not a factor for 2 more seasons. Consider him a savings account. Out of sight out of mind.

Felix Hernandez is only 20, right?

edit: He's 22 and been in the MLB for four years. I can dream dammit.

Understandable. Not the first time the Royals have provoked delusions. :)

ROFL Another quick question: Gordon seems to have tremendous range for a 3b. As long as we're being delusional, whats odds he can move to short?

Demonpenz 08-06-2008 03:30 PM

gordon played ss in hs and some in college

I don't think we need 3 new starters. Bannister is off-form. He needs to stay consistent, but I don't know if he can. I think we really only need 1 more starting pitcher. Davies has got to go. Of course, I'm speaking only in terms of making the playoffs.

If we get everything you're advocating, we're World Series caliber. I just don't see that happening by next season. Maybe in 3.

Why would you? Aviles is doing really, really well there right now.

Well, when we don't resign grudz we can bump gordon to short and have butler play third, sign teix and have a glorious infield.
