Not to mention, A&M's QB put up 450+ yards of total offense against KSU this week, so I know he has to be in that top 10 somewhere. ;)

Just give Arnaud another year or two.. ISU is a young team showing flashes!

Yeah, you are right. I forgot the A&M QB.

32. Jerrod Johnson - Texas A&M. 11 TD's, 4 INT for 1089 yards.

No, not really. I just don't think Freeman that good.

based on what?

2008 season, 6 games

111 completions on 169 attempts (65.7%)
12 touchdowns and 2 interceptions
1,509 yards (251.5 per game)
8.93 yards per attempt
13.59 yards per completion

47 carries for 221 yards (net of sack yardage lost)
12 touchdowns
4.70 yards per attempt

He is #2 in the nation in all positions in scoring.

A subjective review would be more interesting. Incorporating wins, losses, come-from-behind victories and the such...

A (not so) quick run of the numbers yielded these results. I did it all by hand, so hopefully my math is good.

I assigned points to the following categories with regards to the Big 12 QB's COMPARED to each other in the conference: Come from behind victories, wins/losses, passing yards, interceptions, and completion percentage.

If a QB was a 1 in conference he got 12 points and so on down to one.

If there was a tie, both(or more) were added up and averaged.

I'm going to post the school name instead of the QB.

1. Texas
2. KU
3. MU
4(tie). TTU
4.(tie). OSU
6. OU
7. KSU
8. Baylor
9. Nebraska
10.ISU
11.TAMU
12.Colorado

When I looked at the numbers again, I figured that the come from behind victory category gave a substantial bump to 4 QB's. There have been only 4 comeback victories this year for Big 12 schools(I classified coming back as being down by any margin at anytime in the second half). Thus it gave 4 QB's an extra six points compared to the other 8. When the total of the leader Texas' QB was only 50 points, that's a large bump for a relatively benign stat. Taking out that category, the results changed slightly.

1. Texas
2. Mizzou
3. KU
4. TTU
5. OSU
6. OU
7. KSU
8. Baylor
9. Nebraska
10. ISU
11. TAMU
12. Colorado

I think if Freeman comes out this year he would be a Top 10 pick potentially depending on how he performs in the combine. His team sucks, and he's looking like a Stallion right now.

Saulbadguy 10-13-2008 04:48 PM

Freeman is a good QB on a bad team. His only fault IMO is he makes very bad throws when he is running.

:cuss: I spent a lot of time on that breakdown, I better get at least one good fight out of the KU/MU people.

and you did a good job.

Colt McCoy? He's not a top 10 in my book. Chase Daniels is the only QB I'd feel ok in drafting. Especially if he brings his coaches.

Wow  Let me guess, you like Mizzou?

mikeyis4dcats. 10-13-2008 06:16 PM

I'll say it....I don't think Reesing or Daniels have pro talent.

I think Bradford and Freeman could have starter potential. I think McCoy will end up a backup.

Haha, are you kidding me? A midget with average arm strength? I don't know how his game translates to the NFL very well

teedubya 10-13-2008 06:45 PM

The Chiefs are gonna draft Bradford... and all the MUrons will be sad.
