I don't blame this on King Carl. If this is true and teams were only offering a 4th rounder then screw em. Too bad for Tony G but you can't blame King Carl for not pulling the trigger.

Such a statement doesn't preclude a last-minute deal, which it was always likely to be. They'd have already done it if the Chiefs were happy with their best offer to date. Obviously they're biting the bullet to the last second and hoping someone caves.
