Glazer said that Buffalo offered a 3rd but Tony vetoed that.

The Chiefs still have to play the Buffalo Bills next month. I’m not sure Peterson would have an interest in trading in sending the best TE in the history of the NFL to an opposing team. The fans and media would have a field day with that story.
TG is one of my all time favorite to play the game. I wish the Giants had him. With the playoffs months away, this isn't the best time to made to make a deal. When is the next trade, Nov? See what happens. A great QB can lead a team to a championship behind a great line and a team needs a great defense, special teams, and good coaching. They'll get you there. But in the end a team's depth is what will win ... Just my opinion |
I expected Carl to hold out for a second, which is why I figured it wouldn't get done. Not too much shock here.

While we're talking about the trade Deadlines, would it be wise to back the date to say, the first week of November? That way, at that time frame, it'll be obviously clear which teams should be buying and what teams should be selling.

Plus it would generate some newsworthy reports and such. And hypotheically speaking, let's say the Giants TE, Boss, somehow suffers a freak injury and the Giants are stuck w/o any decent TE's? And it's only week seven? |
Im glad .. Gonzo deserves better, but No. 88 is the only Chiefs jersey Ive ever bought and probably will be me last ...

I have to research this -- The Giants don't trade for veterans. I remember reading that in the middle of the season the Giants ended up making a trade for Otis Anderson. Tony Gonzales --(but I'm tired), they made a trade for Otis Anderson. The Giants did it once with Anderson, who was an elite player. So I thought they would get it done with Gonzalez.
Found it.. In the winter of 1866, the Giants made a trade with Geronimo, for T.A. Tittle. In 1986, the Cardinals traded Anderson to the Giants in the middle of the season.. Why did the Cardinals get rid of him? I got to go to bed Otis Anderson: 2 Time Pro Bowl selection (1979, 1980) 1979 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year 1989 NFL Comeback Player of the Year 2 Time Super Bowl Champion (Super Bowl XXI, Super Bowl XXV) Super Bowl XXV MVP Arizona Cardinals all-time leader in rushing yards with 7,999 |

People in this market are so use to a team that doesn't win they are attached to players, simply put.

Gilbride, the offensive coordinator for the Giants played Shockey more as a blocker. Shockey wanted to be a WR... Hell, I'd take the money and run too nite |
