Here's his newest one, recapping the Senior Bowl: http://nick8.surfernetwork.com/Media...Draft12909.mp3

It's not like G-Tech is some no name D3 program. They had a quality coaching staff while he was there.

Johnson didn't even start until this season, and he never dominated in college like he should have.

I've said it before, but he has the body of a basketball player to me. He almost looks like a giraffe.

Well he was coached by Chan Gailey...

aturnis 02-02-2009 07:51 AM

Gailey was the head coach, not the D-line coach.

I'm not defending him, I have no opinion on him. More of a question really. You say he had better than D3 coaching, but so did the Chiefs D-line. I don't see where that makes any argument that his position coaching was any good.

I personally think it'd ALWAYS be a good idea to evaluate a players coaching when dealing with guys like M.J., who may have under achieved. I think this is a good way to go about finding 2nd round guys who wind up being top of their class. Find out whether his coaching sucked, he is uncoachable, or has maxed out his potential. Does that not sound right?

Sure it sounds right, but Johnson didn't even start until his senior year. Did poor coaching only hurt him and not the other defensive linemen, despite the fact they have less talent? Did poor coaching make him skip out on the Senior Bowl when he could have received NFL-level coaching?

Also, I'm not a big believer in poor coaching being the reason KC's d-line has not produced. I'd say that has more to do with poor scouting and not getting the best guys for your system.

Lots of Stafford talk, and even addressing the fear of taking a QB.

And then the next week..

Damn.

I'll have to listen this afternoon, though I'm pretty sure what he's going to say regarding the QB's.

he's a true fan slayer....plus he loves Stafford - "I'd take Stafford over Sanchez ten times out of ten" - so he's ok in my book :D

but he insists you have to draft one of them if you have the chance...

One of my favorite parts is when he just starts ripping the QB's, after the 1st 3 guys all of the QB's are terrible.

So this idea of getting one late is pretty flawed.

Because Scott Wright has great accuracy in his QB predictions?
