Anything that anyone says on this is just speculating. There are plenty of pundits that don't believe this will be a big deal, either way. The Chiefs aren't the organization that has never hired or interviewed minority candidates. It would be against the spirit of the rule, even if they did not interview a candidate for the opening this time. Would anyone throw a fit if they went from Edwards to Cowher without taking a serious look at Crennel?!? Seriously? Common sense surely must come into play, here.
Plus, the rule is NOT a law...so they don't have to do follow this at all. They will be fined, per their agreement to be a part of the NFL and its rules, but that's all. People need to stop worrying about this. I'm sure the Chiefs and the NFL have this covered.
