They already interviewed Herm Edwards to see if he would coach the chiefs in 2009 - so they should be covered.

Anything that anyone says on this is just speculating. There are plenty of pundits that don't believe this will be a big deal, either way. The Chiefs aren't the organization that has never hired or interviewed minority candidates. Would anyone throw a fit if they went from Edwards to Cowher without taking a serious look at Crennel?!? Seriously? Common sense surely must come into play, here.

Plus, the rule is NOT a law...so they don't have to do follow this at all. They will be fined, per their agreement to be a part of the NFL and its rules, but that's all. People need to stop worrying about this. I'm sure the Chiefs and the NFL have this covered.

Thats what I would think. Herm must have spent several days with Pioli. But who knows. The NFL has some of the screwiest rules.
