I don't pay for trash service, as it's included in my rent. Auto insurance for just my car runs me around $360 for six months. 2002 Lexus IS300.

i have tried several auto insurance companies and AAA is by far the cheapest.

ShortRoundChief 01-31-2009 10:26 AM

I pay $67 a month for full coverage on both a 94 dakota and a 96 lumina.

I don't pay for trash service as I live in the country. I normally just haul mine to town and cut through an alley and use a dumpster someone else has to pay for. I could get trash service at 75.00 /month but that would be STUPED.

I can see where you're headed here, Mr. pr_capone, and I think it's brilliant.

Either get the trash guys to haul away the car or start burning refuse in the trunk. Either way, you save tons. Genius.

In my case, the trash service is 24 skins a month and the insurance is about $120 or so although that will probably go up because the premium is partially based on our driving records and we've had a couple of speeding tickets recently which reminds me that Nashville Metro police are very similar to the dreaded, evil Copperhead snake which uses camouflage to conceal itself while lying in wait for unsuspecting innocents to pass by at which time it strikes as though out of nowhere inflicting unbearable pain, injury, and endless torment. The bastards.

If you are military or former military, you should shop USAA for any and all insurance.

No one can touch them, IMO. Rates, service, and conveniences.

They even give you a kickback on auto insurance in December based on company savings on projected claims. It's usually about 5-10% of your annual premiums.

Trash 15/mo + 3 fuel charge... (which should be dropped now). Try getting your whole area/neighborhood on 1 trash company. Force these guys to bid on ALL service. 1 truck, 1 day a week.

2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
1997 Chevy Lumina (only 47K miles)

$593 every six months full coverage. Same company insures my home, so there is a discount for that. A year ago before I bought the Hyundai, the Chevy was $291 every six months by itself.

Trash is covered in my HOA fee, which is $35 a month. Includes garbage and recycling pickup, street snow removal and cutting grass in the common areas in the summer. We have individual homes with an HOA since were not in any city.

Check out Progressive. They often have auto premiums that can't be beat.

Scalper 01-31-2009 11:21 AM

I pay $80.00 per month for an 85 DeLorean time machine. Full Coverage:thumb:

I've checked them all. AMFAM has the best premiums.

Edit: For me, that is. I suppose it would be a bit cheaper if I were married...

You could save a bundle by switching to Geico.

It's so easy even a cave man could do it. ;)

Allstate = $105 month

2002 Toyota 4Runner Sport (4WD)
2004 Saab 9-3 Aero (Turbo)

DTLB58 01-31-2009 12:34 PM

State Farm: Full coverage.
2006 Dodge Ram (4WD)
2003 Ford Taurus
= $92 a month or $552 per 6 month premium per your request.

I have called around a couple of times and never found cheaper than State Farm.
In fact, the last time I called All State she wouldn't even give me a quote, after she heard who I had she just said "We can't beat them, You have the cheapest your going to get"

rad 01-31-2009 12:44 PM

I take my garbage to the dump myself. Costs about 12 bucks a month.
