That was interesting...Andy Kauffman esque...

The last time I laughed at Letterman was when people I knew were on it. Some guys from my high school were on the stupid human tricks bit.

Conan is the 80's Letterman of our generation.

Only I may do the dance.

Conan is the best. I went to a live taping of his show in the summer of 2000. Awesome.

Rebecca Romijn was one of the guests promoting the X-Men movie. She looked amazing in person.

Wow, didn't realize this was coming up already. Never get to watch him anymore now that I'm nights. I just hope he doesn't start sucking in the new time slot.

Thanks to the OP. I would have missed it.

Honestly all 3 make me laugh. I think Conan is the most off the wall. Letterman and Leno both have a mainstream feel to them, with Leno being a little less goofy humor and a little more smart humor. I like Jaywalking. I love when Dave used to call random pay phones in NYC to see what people would do. Or that time he was the Taco Bell drive thru guy. That was histerical. Conan comes up with a lot of creative and weird things, like they Year 2000 and stuff like the masterbating bear.

Having said all of that, I went with Letterman after the big switch. I just like his goofiness more than Leno's straighter delivery. But in my older years now, they both make me laugh.

Jaywalking used to be good. Now it's a bunch of people pretending to not know answers.

Shit, I was gonna post this but you beat me to it right out of the gate. That was one of the best recurring skits in the history of late night television IMO.

Personally my preference is Craig Ferguson. I think he's got the freshest approach to hosting a talk show. His opening monologues are not fully scripted. He free styles a lot. He treats his guest warmly yet irreverently. I started to check out his show after he was profiled on the Sunday Morning Show on CBS. I'm glad I did. Right now, with a tiny budget, he puts on a better show than a lot of the other, more established hosts. He reminds me now of Johnny of the late 60's, Letterman of the mid 80's, and Conan of the late 90's when they were at their best if not their peak. He is the only latenighter who can make me laugh out loud night after night these days. I still enjoy Dave and Conan on occasion, but Craig has become must see TV. Thank God for TIVO. Nice to see a comic come into his own before your very eyes.

What's going to air between Monday and Friday next week?

kchero 02-20-2009 01:31 PM

I thought his emmy skit was hilarious.

Conan is brilliant and I cannot wait to see what he will do now.
