Well, I thought you did since the part of the article you quoted was talking about why Thigpen worked out of the spread at Coastal Carolina.

Why should Todd ask Gailey about this? I care more about last year.

Read the quote again. "I don't know why they WENT to the spread." Meaning they changed systems. Unless there was a coaching change when Thigpen was around, I doubt Haley was talking about CC.

He seemed to be saying

"I don't know about CC.

I don't know about the Chiefs and the spread.

I don't know why."

Basically, he's saying he wants to get to know Thigpen better.

Gotcha.

Ambiguous antecedent. Just assumed he was linking back to CC, since that's also the focus of the previous paragraph.

Since this makes absolutely no ****ing sense, then, it's safe to chalk Haley's comments up to: many words and very, very little substance.

In short, I think it a typical post on CP. Thus, I like it.

Just kidding.

I actually just glossed over the first part about Coastal Carolina and immediately focused my attention on the spread question. By the time I clicked "submit reply" and read the quote over, it was too late. I was hoping nobody would notice, but I wasn't lucky enough.

Thankfully I thought fast and bullshitted my way out of it.

Look at you. Working it, working it.

The Republican party needs this type of cleverness to gain young voters.

Do young voters like Thigpen or Cassel? Spread? West coast? Do they want to go back to a Vermeil offense?

Nice article. I know that sometimes it's hard to judge our team cuz of the lack of media access. Remember where we were last year at this time. I don't know if Haley is the right choice or not. I know some people thought that we should of hired McDaniels instead. Anyone want to admit that now?

Though they have Cassel and Thigpen, Haley indicated the Chiefs might select a quarterback in the draft next month.

“We’re not going to draft for need,” he said. “It’s going to be trying to accumulate as many good players as you can accumulate.

“We’re not going to draft for need,” he said. “It’s going to be trying to accumulate as many good players as you can accumulate. But it just allows you some flexibility. I will say that. It opens more doors, gives you that flexibility that you may not have if you didn’t feel more comfortable at that position.”

Love this ROFL, if Stafford is there and we draft him people will be screaming to the top of their lungs. That is until we trade Thigpen to another team for more picks. I think that the FO is setting itself up for multiple scenarios with the draft. You boost everyone's status for possible trade opportunities, while making sure you let everyone know that any of the top players in the draft could be the team's potential pick. This along with the lack of contract for Cassel defintely puts us in a position that we'll be seeing offers on the table hopefully next month! :thumb: Holy Pioli the Don is a genious!!

Good post. I've heard the Panthers are more interested in Thigpen than the general public knows about.

I'll gladly admit I've always been against McDaniels given the Patriots coaches track record after leaving. Though I didn't think he would be this bad before the season even started. You have to think though, had he came here he would be working under Pioli and he would have gotten the QB he wanted. Personally I'm so glad he didn't though.
