I lived in Tarragona back in 01. Absolutely loved it. next year if ya get a chance go to Valls in the spring and attend a calcotada... fun times.

I used the ATMs while I was in Spain and it worked out great. Daily exchange rates and I didn't need to carry a lot of cash.

Yea I did this till an ATM in Portugal ate my ATM card, talk about being ****ed!

Make sure you inform your bank ahead of time before you travel if this is your plan. Sometimes banks will see foreign transactions and lock an account, especially if it's not normal for such transactions to appear on the account and they are for large amounts.
