Any year is a great year when you have Rivers, LT, Sproles, Gates, Jackson, Chambers, Good O-Line, Jamal Williams, Castillo, Merriman, Phillips, etc.

Don't forget Norv Turner.

Norv Turner has won more playoff games in his tenure in San Diego than the Chiefs have since 1991.

Who hasn't?

Raiders north? That's a bit of a reach.

Buck 08-19-2009 07:32 AM

How many coaches have won 3 playoff games in the last 2 years?

Mike Tomlin, Ken Wisenhunt, Tom Coughlin, Norv Turner

CHIEFS58 08-19-2009 07:36 AM

more like raiders northeast. besides, who gives a damn? they both can go to hell. coincidentally, al davis runs that place too.

And, 3 of those coaches have won Conference titles... 2 won SBs. Which one is not like the others?

Oh and Norv also only has 4 seasons (of his 11) with more wins than losses. He's stellar! One day he hopes to be like Marty... once he reaches that point, his goal is to be Dan Reeves or Marv Levy.

And also one of them had an injured starting QB (1 year), RB (2 years), TE (2 years), Stud OLB (1 year), yet still managed to win 3 games.

Every season, every team has injury issues.

But they don't all win 3 playoff games.

I don't know many people who don't think that a healthy Chargers team would have beat the Pats in 2007-08.

Ok, you point to an "injured QB 1 year"... Rivers has started 32 games in the last 2 seasons. So, sure - he may have had some issues, but again - every team has this stuff happen to them.

You point to the injured RB "2 years)... LT and Sproles have been fine from a production stand point the last 2 seasons. LT has started 32 games in the last 2 seasons.

Has LT been the freak of nature that he was earlier in his career? No, but he's been very productive - 2500 yds rushing / 110 recs / 800 yds rec / 30 total TDs the last 2 seasons.

Gates - again, started 32 games with over 1600 yds and 17 TDs the last 2 seasons.

So, stop crying... Norv hasn't been forced to bring a replacement crew to the playoffs.

Norv = Marty Jr ... just accept it.

I hope that helps you sleep at night when he keeps costing you games. Playoff games don't mean shit if they don't include trophies.

I'll donate to a lifetime contract if it makes you happy.

If any Chiefs coach would have won a playoff game in the last 15 years, we'd be hanging our hats on that too, FWIW.

Really? Sure they were fine in the regular season but in the playoffs, Rivers played with a torn ACL, I thought this was common knowledge?

Tomlinson had to sit out both years in the playoffs because of a Sprained Knee in 07, and a TORN GROIN in 08. Gates had a sprained toe in the 07 playoffs (hard to run), and a case of plantar fasciitis last year. Merriman was obviously out all year last year.

Our injuries have hit us during the playoffs the last 2 years.
