Same way a man would.

Yes. Orton is reasonably accurate and his three-pick game is being overblown. He's never been a turnover-prone QB.

Thigpen...unreasonably inaccurate and has always been turnover prone.

Fish 08-19-2009 10:04 AM

I would. Orton would be much more versatile than Thigpen would. If I'm looking for a decent backup QB, I'd rather have one that didn't require a custom offense installed just to be somewhat productive....

Yep. Not even Tom Brady or Peyton Manning have thrown 205 consecutive passes without an INT like Orton did last year.

In 2008, Orton and Thigpen both had 12 INT. Of course, Orton had more attempts. YPA is almost equal, with Orton having the slight advantage. Both threw 18 TD's, and Orton got sacked one more time than Thigpen. They actually look pretty closely matched according to stats. Of course, Orton has a few more years experience in the NFL.

It's pretty much an irrelevant conversation.

If your starting quarterback is named Thigpen OR Orton...you're ****ed.

LaChapelle 08-19-2009 10:31 AM

Can he return punts...er.. .kickoffs?

Orton had an 89.1 QB Rating before he hurt his ankle week 8 last year. He was injured the entire second half of the season.

We'll find out how good or bad Orton is when he's asked to win games this year.

My guess is that his ints go up and his rating goes down,

CoMoChief 08-19-2009 10:50 AM

Hell no. Thigpen actually has the better arm and is more athletica and can make plays with his legs better than a lot of starting QB's around the league.

Mr. Kotter 08-19-2009 10:51 AM

Nope. Thignpen has more upside....and burst. :)
