He very well could be--I think he has a better arm and is just as, if not MORE mobile than Cassel--he simply lacks consistent accuracy--truth be told--I'd rather have Thigpen than Kyle Orton (I think that Simms will wind up our starter by our bye week)---Croyle--despite playing in the tough SEC in college--is a Koy Detmer clone without the durability........ Thigpen could very well be the 3rd or 4th best QB in our division (Simms and Garcia--who Jokeland won't start over Jabba-rcus---are in the same territory)---and spare me Kyle Orton's winning record as a QB for chicago--his noodle arm is NOT a fit for the spread offense --once teams play bump n run and we cannot run bubble screens--he is incapable of making the mid range throws consistently...and he eyes WR's WAY too much--especially for a veteran QB.......

Maybe if we're lucky Croyle will stay alive until halftime of Game 1. At least then we'd have an entire half of Thigpen-less football.

I guess they figure that the Chiefs will play Croyle in the last preseason game and that will need to make Thigpen the starter??? Guiterrez has looked good, I'd rather him start than Thiggy.

And Guiterrez definitely solidified his spot on this roster by throwing 2 picks against a 3rd and 4th string defense.

Thigpen has been here through all the OTAs, TC, had time to work with the recievers he played with, and he sucked bigger ass than you.

Guttierrez, meanwhile has been for 3 weeks, and threw 2 picks when his primary target was a receiver who has been in camp for just under a week.

are you kidding? he was a joke out there, botching hand offs, over and under throwing screens, locking on to receivers, missing open ones, terrible on third downs the list goes on... he has no business starting in the NFL, hell Orton's left handed pass looked better than a few of Thiggy's throws

I laugh at anyone who says Thigpen is or is just as good as Matt Cassel.

And Haley has said many times that he's been working really hard on learning how to take snaps under center and function in a pro offense. That's going to take some time.

I don't dispute that Thigpen isn't ready right now. What I dispute is how many people are hyping up Guiterrez for average performances at best.

Most people here aren't saying that. Nor should they.
