"But...but...it's the first game of the season"! You know, I might have a bet going with Doomy3 where Cassel will probably fall short, but I don't want the mother****er KILLED JUST SO SOME OF YOU CAN GET YOUR FIRST-GAME JOLLIES. Wake up, and GROW the **** up. ****in' True Fan idiots. |

You calling anyone an idiot reeks of irony. This is part of playing in the NFL. If there is little risk of further injuring the knee, you get your shot, and you suck it up and play the game. Guys get dinged. They have to play through it. And, if we only play Cassel on the weeks that he won't get hurt.... well, then he will never play for us. |

Have you forgotten who the **** we're playing this week?! But Oh well, all hail the Great Nosensical Chiefs Fan; just shut your eyes, wish for the best, and scream "PIOLI" at that top of your dumb, ****ing lungs as our 60 Million Dollar Franchise QB goes right down the shitter just so you can enjoy one ****ing day of football. |

First, the only information we have on how things are going comes from Josh Looney, Kent Babb, and Bob Gretz. Nobody here knows the medical reports. And I don't even recall the Chiefs acknowledging that it was a sprain of the MCL (I could be wrong there.) This isn't about being nonsensical. You put your players on the field who give you the best chance to win...and guess what? The Oakland Raiders have hard-hitters too. Hell, it was a Kansas City Chief that took out Joshie McDungiels' apprentice last year. Any player can be lost for the year on any play in any situation...if it is a sprain and is just about what you can grit your teeth through and not risking further injury, you put him out there. |

If so, he'd never play this year. It's the regular season - if he can go, he damn well better go. Now, if he gets killed, it's on Pioli's shoulders for not protecting his investment. But not playing him because of concern of injury is weak. |

Brady went out for the year playing the 'lowly' Chiefs. Buy a clue moron. |
Youre a pussy if you don't want Cassel to play this week. Thats some Herm Edwards shit right there.

How many years has this franchise and fan base waited to get this type of Quarterback( assuming he turns out great )? If Matt Cassel get's "Brady'd" or worse; this fan base will go to Defcon 1 in the blink of a snap. This is a bad idea. |
I wouldn't play Cassel unless or until he was 100%. It's just not worth the risk of further injury and setting him back 2 more months ... or more. Think about it, with a problematic knee, just a tap from the wrong angle can create even more serious problems we definitely don't need or want.
Were I Haley and Cassel isn't 100%, I'd start Croyle and, depending on how he performs, bring Cassel (based on the score) or Thiggy in off the bench. If we're fortunate enough to establish an effective, successful run game, it's .... MOOT!!!! EDIT: Remember, our QB has to be mobile. To survive, I mean. FAX |
