If there's any one thing I agree with, it's probably this.

My father-in-law is a Cowboys fan (grew up in Dallas) and I don't know how he does it. It's one thing to be talentless and awful like the Chiefs.

The Cowboys are just pathetic.

I love the optimism. 3-3 would mean we have a shot at the AFC west considering we have the weakest schedule after week 6 vs the Skins. That would be great. But I am not living in a fairy tale either.

This is the NFL. The actual gap between good teams and poor teams is small. The difference is coaching, focus and determination.

As I watched that Baltimore game and removed emotion.... the Chiefs are going to be a decent team.

Decent is enough to catch the Redskins and Cowboys snoozing and pull out a win.

I am not saying the Chiefs are 'better' than these teams. You don't have to be better to win. You just have to play the better game on that day.

I agree with the three wins

but I think they'll have three after seventeen games, not six

Decent teams give up 500 yards of offense?

Decent teams go 28 minutes without a 1st down?

You didn't just remove emotion, you removed your brain.

With your user name, I'd of thought you'd only look one game at a time. Seriously, I'm HOPING we win against Oakland. The Ravens game was not pleasant even tho we were tied with around 2 mins to play.

I am going to post this now, because I think there will be a lot of optimism following the Raiders game.

I have watched the Ravens game a few times. The more I watch it, the better I feel about this team.

The Chiefs will win against the Raiders. Not just win, but be in control of the game.

Basically, Oakland's offense is not balanced enough to stretch the Chiefs defense like last week.

Now, that is just one win.... after which we go to Philly, then have the Giants at home, then the Cowboys and then the Redskins.

So, with those quality teams, how can I predict the Chiefs winning two of them.

Okay, well lets look at the Eagles first. The Eagles looked great against Carolina. But, that was after Delhome shat himself. He began to hold the ball longer as the game went along. I don't think the defense is 'that' good.

The Eagles like to bring the blitz alot, but are not huge up front. I think the Chiefs can get the run game going. I don't think McNabb will be back and I think the Eagles will try to work Vick in too much. It will be a detriment to the offense.

Chiefs have a much better shot at that game than if they had McNabb.

Even still, I am predicting this as a loss.

Next up is the Giants at home. As much as I would like to spin this as a win.... I can't. The Giants are a great team. The Chiefs put up a good fight because it is at home, but I can't see them pulling this game out.

So, loss again. So far I am not looking too good.

Luckily.... we have the Cowboys coming in. The Cowboys will be playing their second straight road game. It will be a high scoring game. But the Chiefs will pull it out as the Cowboys look towards their bye week and take the Chiefs lightly.

So, looking a little better at 2-3.

Next up: Washington Redskins. Chiefs catch the Skins in between two conference games. The game before is Carolina. But, more importantly, the game the following week is Philly.

Chiefs won't put up a ton of points, but won't allow many either. Luckily Clinton Portis is on the tail end of his career and NOT playing behing a great Broncos line.

Campbell won't get it done in front of the home crowd and the Chiefs pull out the victory.

.......

Or, the Chiefs could be 0-6..... WTF do I know, I thought Sanchez was Pennington at best and he pulls a freaking Joe Montana in Houston (exageration intended)

Chiefsfan I will give you... Sensible, well, not so much.

Very sensible

:spock: I watched the Oakland/San Diego game, the Oakland lines of scrimmage looked like a heck of a challenge for our boys.

Thanks for the update. Sheesh, I had no idea.... wait... I did.

His average rushing per game in Denver was.... drumroll... 106 yards

His average rushing game in Washington has been.... 85 yards.

For those of you who struggle with math, that is 20% more yards per game.

Additionally, his yards per carry average in Denver was 5.5. His yards per carry average in Washington has been..... 4.09 yards per carry. He averaged a yard and a half more per carry in Denver.

Now, who is the dumbass? You have to look a little deeper... but it sounds like that might be hard for you.

I think the problem is we havent proven to be able to stop the running game. Skins can control the clock and pound away at 4 yards a carry and pick up first down after first down. Sure, he may not break out a 75 yard run like he did in Denver. But he can still pick up 10 runs of 75 yards and it all adds up the same way.

Micjones 09-17-2009 10:12 AM

We'll be 0-6. Just like we were going to lose last week's game by 30 points.

Okay, 500 yards is a bitter, bitter pill to swallow. I get it. Chiefs were on the road, the offense was sputtering and the defense just got wore out. The Chiefs surely did not expect the Ravens to come out chucking the ball..... They were caught off guard a little.

Offensively.... the Chiefs got better as they went along. The Chiefs lost a possession due to the block punt and Bradley should have gotten a first down but ran out right before the sticks.

All I am saying is that Baltimore is a very good team. The Chiefs won't face a much better team all year. It was their home opener. They were completely healthy, and the Chiefs didn't have their best defensive player and probably their best offensive player.

And, it was still tied late.
