JA wasn't going to resign with the Chiefs because King Carl pissed him off!

Did they not put up 20 points? We'd be lucky to get three points against Minny's "D".

They have more talent outside of the offensive line, especially at QB.

Bullshit.

Keeping the best defensive player the team has had in a decade as he's entering his prime is laying the foundation for a good team.

The Chiefs needed to overcome years of poor draft and free agent evaluation. They didn't need to overcome the one time they got lucky.

How do you overcome poor drafting and free agent evaluation with a GM who became KNOWN for those two things?

Jared Allen wins us JUST enough games to keep Carl employed. And Carl continues to screw up in the draft and free agency. Jared Allen ends his career with a bunch of sacks and no playoff wins.

It was worse than the Chiefs. The Packers have enough other talent to make up for it, but the actual offensive line is worse.

Exactly.

It doesn't matter, it only happened because Carl was the GM, and Carl's gone now, so whatever. If you want to blame someone, blame Lamar Hunt for it, because he was still committed to Carl Peterson after a decade of crap.

They won 4 games the last year Allen was here. Kind of grenades your little theory.

Just like Tony Gonzalez would have gone into the Hall of Fame with 0 playoff wins.

Just like Will Shields will go into the Hall of Fame with 0 playoff wins.

Etc.

Not when you consider the offense and secondary was much better in 2008.

With Allen on last years team, they win at least six games.... heck, they may have even won the division.

Ownership needed to fire Peterson. The notion that you needed to allow the team to freefall down the drain so you can make FO changes is silly.

It's like saying "thank god Joe died in that car accident, because now all Joe's friends wear their seatbelts."

It's easy to say that move was the catalyst for the end of Peterson's regime, and it may have been. But we don't know that for certain, as Clark Hunt hadn't really had a chance to show us what he would do yet.

The assumption that Clark wouldn't have ever pulled that trigger is just more reason to expect more years of failure. Even if it was necessary to set these changes in motion, I still can't see it as anything other than a negative.

Yeah, Jared Allen = 7 more wins.

Cocaine is bad.

And Peterson didn't get fired.

Peterson didn't get fired because they lost 2 more games than they did the year before. He got fired because it was time.

The Chiefs lost seven games by seven points or less.

They lost four games by four points or less.

I said the Chiefs would have won at least six games. If Jared Allen wouldn't have made an impact in at least four of those seven games.... then he isn't an impact player.
