But the only reason why he wasn't was because of his age and the time he was here in KC. We got him when he was 30. Had he been the same age as what let's say Cassel is, that first rd pick would be very well worth it.
But that team was ready to win immediately. That was the teams philosophy then....and it hurt this team down the road. I really don't see KC being any good for another 3 years.

Trent Green was a game manager at best. He couldn't "Put a team on his shoulders" like Montana, Elway, Manning, Brady or Roethisberger.
Without Hall of Fame protection, he was extremely ineffective.
AND, for the #12 pick overall, he was a waste because he barely lasted 5 years.
Who would have rather had with that pick?
Trent Green or Drew Brees?
How DIFFERENT would this franchise be with Drew Brees?
