She is now 160 (size 10) and getting back to 120 (size 4-6)

Remember this the body does what the mind tells it.

Free Taco Bueno doesn't help.

I bought the Wii Fit Plus. It's pretty cool. It has games and other things that keep you distracted from doing the exercising you're doing. This is the first day with it, so I'm not sold yet.

Anyone else still battling the bulge? Here, hopefully, you can find more encouragement and tips on diet and exercise. Feel free to talk about discouragements, setbacks, frustrations, etc as well. We're here to help...at least I am.

My parents have been doing slim for life, no exercising and both have dropped 50+ lbs in 3+ months.. They are religious on it which is good, weigh in 4+ times a week..

I don't eat at work silly.

I went on my four mile walk today. I don't know why I ever stopped. I always feel so much better afterward. I think my key is going to be exercising. If I'm exercising, I feel guilty when I eat.

Of course they can.

Losing weight is all about changing your eating habits, not exercise.

Sure, exercise helps, but you can get ripped without ever stepping foot in a gym.

Exercise for other reasons, like cardiovascular fitness.

luv - You mentioned tips. What kind of tips do you want?

You're not going to be able to exercise enough to offset eating the same amount of calories you always have. I'm sure you know that... just a reminder.

Remember: "You can't fight more with more." You can't fight eating more calories with more exercise, because at some point, you'll simply run out of time to exercise. It's far easier to eat more than it is to burn it off. The best thing is simply a target weekly reduction in calories.

Yes, the key to weightloss is to burn more calories than you take in. I didn't mean the key to my weightloss would be exercising. I meant that exercising would be key in actually helping me eat less. I don't want to feel like the effort put forth to exercise was in vain.

Other key factors, for me, will be...

No fast food
Watching the sodium intake
No soda (I did this for well over a year. Not sure what made me decide to start drinking it again)
Low fat (not "no" fat, as some fat is healthy)

Low fat sucks.

High fat, ultra low carb is the way to go if you really want to burn fat.
