It's nice that he's good with kickers, they should probably look for an assistant to focus on the coverage and return games though.

The Chiefs at one point had the top coverage units the entire NFL.

I have to give you credit. At least you're a good sport.

If memory serves it was about week 6 or 7

They dropped off a bit since then but they had a good year besides the Cleveland game.

Huge improvement over last year.

Coverage units are fine. They had one bad game. Take that game away, and they were rock solid.

Those coverage units also helped Colquitt become the most productive of his career, and that's largely due to our coverage unit getting downfield fast enough to prevent returns.

Our biggest problem on the return unit are that we have shitty returners. Charles was the only legit returner we've had all year, and he did very well. Coverage units also typically improve as your roster improves. You can afford to keep more ST specialists when you feel pretty comfortable with your starters and backups.

"That one game"

That's like the Dick Vermiel defense of "Hey if you take away those big plays".

I'll take your word for it.

You're talking about coverage and returns? Or, kicking and punting?

Shut the **** up, Mecca. The coverage units were good this year. Succop helped them a lot, too.

You and GoChiefs have convinced me.

Ignore this thread. It was dumb. :doh!:

I thought our ST did good this year. We need return guys, that isn't on the ST coach. He has to work with what the top guys give him. Other than that we had solid coverages and our FG team was outstanding. Lord knows they got enough practice.

I'm a reasonable person. You win. I believe you.
