My online persona is exactly the same as my real life personality. There's no difference. I like being myself; not sure why I'd try to be anybody else.

Hog's Gone Fishin 01-30-2010 10:14 AM

I get a lot more rep on here than in real life thats for sure.

In real life I post more often.

That was my choice, too.

I live an easy life. My job does not require dressing well, sucking up, being polite, or curbing my weird humor. I have little family to speak of and, what family and friends I have, already know what I'm like.

I can do both equally as well. I'm very comfortable in both realms. Probably because I'm almost exactly the same IRL & online; one difference is that I am a wee bit more polite IRL when I am in public or at work and someone gives a sports/pop culture/political opinion that I disagree with. I give an honest effort at being nice.

RJ 01-30-2010 11:17 AM

I try very hard to avoid conversations with stupid people in either realm. Whether on line or in real life, if I find myself surrounded by idiots I just switch to another thread.

So much of communication is lost when it's just written word, that I can't possibly do as well online as in real life. A great example is meeting women - you can like them and feel like you've got something going all you want online, but once you meet in real life you'll never be able to tell if there is really something there.

That's just an example, but still.

I see your point.

I'll let Pink Floyd answer this one for me and why I chose #3 option...

'Me...and you
And who knows which is which..?
And who is who..?'

Now I wanna sync up "The Wizard Of Oz" again... thanks...

Much less for me. I hate when your timing is off IRL and I rarely am in a thread as it's happening. So most of my funny thoughts and smartazz comments have been already been taken care of by the members of cp.
I'm normally a very outgoing guy in real life but the timing isn't there on the web.

Which is why I'm still under 1000 posts in 10 years.

How can that be so?
