Praying things go well with her and you, FMB. Lackland's got a nice hospital there on base. My brother who was at Lackland knew a couple of people who had to spend some time there recuperating. They will take good care of her. It's a great program.

What week is she in now, FMB?

Good luck, Fire Me Girl! I hope your knee gets better so you can kick some Fire Me Boy! ass if he gets out of line.

Manila-Chief 02-24-2010 12:59 PM

Praying for the best!

My generation were trying to stay out of the service, so just a little strange for me to hear she has such a great desire to do this. I do pray she will be able to complete her desired mission. Over coming adversity is an accomplishment in it's self!!!

I admire your support of her!!!

And smile at patteeu's post above!!!

well, I applaude her effort and idear. I'm sorry man, but, everything happens for a reason.

Keep your head up.

Looks like the AF doesn't do "convalescence leave". Peeps at Charleston AFB say she'll either do her recoup there and it'll delay her graduation, or she'll be discharged.

Of course they do. Convalescent leave, actually. Not in basic training, though...

She's going to have to get thru whatever medical issues she has there at Lackland & complete BMTS or they'll "Unfit-for-duty" discharge her...

Sorry to hear it FMB. Prayers her way bud.

It's not looking good. She said the knee had been in a lot of pain prior to her collapsing, and she finally went down. They sent her to the doc, who said it's not her fault, she had no way of knowing that her knee just wouldn't be able to stand up to the rigors of basic and he doesn't feel like she'll be able to do it. Said if this wasn't an injury she'd already had they'd do everything they could to keep her, but considering she's already had a problem with this knee he thinks it's chronic and won't be fixed. She's basically sitting at the med hold while they decide what they're going to do with her.

That's a shame. Does she have any other options to accomplish whatever it was she was trying to accomplish?
