Unfortuntely that is true. It seems more and more parents these days look to the schools to be the priamry child supporter in various aspects. From free lunches to free after school activities or baby sitters if you will.

for 8$ a week in our school system you can leave k-4 kids at an after school program. You can pay by the week when/if the parents have something going on. Gets em a snack and some ruckess time untill 6:30.
I fail to see anything wrong with this type after school activities. Times have changed.

I know there is a program here in Austin where kids can get free lunches during the summer when school is not even in session. :eek:

No matter what you call it, that is still baby sitter services provided by the schools via the tax payer. Bein' ya fer it or 'gin it, doesn't matter. It still is what it is.
