Good riddance.

The game was different back then. If they had the same rules (or lack thereof) today that they did then, guys like Harrison would have been just as dirty.

You are supposed to say something good about the dead. He's dead. Good. Piece of shit.

Thank you for not piling on when a man dies. You're OK.... for a Broncos fan.

"Jack Tatum could hit a man so hard it would lift both his feet off the ground. I remember one game, when the opposing QB tried to scramble for a first down, and Jack knocked him out cold. So they put their back-up in and Jack knocked him out too. Then the punter came in, same thing happened. They ended with their tight-end under center." -Woody Hayes

Go to 6 minutes and 26 seconds.

Wow, Charlie Murphy was pretty much a militant prick.

I like him less now.

This is going to be worthless for some here no matter what is said or posted but here it goes

Quote:

Tatum made efforts to visit Stingley. Before Stingley's death in 2007, intermediaries made several attempts to bring the two together, to bury the ugly past, and each time Stingley, feeling he was being exploited, declined involvement."I feel sorry for what happened to him," Tatum told Yahoo Sports in 2007. "I tried to apologize to him a number of times, but people around him wouldn't let that happen."
If Tatum wasn't properly contrite, it's because he understood the incident was a tragic accident. Referees threw no flags. The league issued no fine. Stingley's own coach, Chuck Fairbanks, conceded it was a clean hit.

Tatum tried to apologize the first time because of a book deal I believe. Nothing more than press to sell more books.

Tatum was a piece of shit. He never had any remorse for ending a guys career and putting him in a wheelchair for life. The world is a better place without that prick. Good riddance maggot.

boogblaster 07-27-2010 08:12 PM

A mean bastard .. that was how it was played and coached back then ....
