Yeah, next year's last place team will be a much better landing spot.

He's not risking Bradford money or anything, the first overall pick isn't getting that kind of crazy guaranteed money anymore.

He was going to get 40+ guaranteed this year no matter what. If a rookie cap is implimented, he'll probably get less than 20mil guaranteed.

He can get his degree at any point once his football career is over. That's exactly what Steve Young did.

This is an insanely stupid decision

the decision may work out, but turning down millions for the possibility of getting injured is never exactly wise....

Rookie cap will likely affect this years rookie class too.

May work out? It has already worked out. He's going as high as you can't go. Its not like he can be the 0 pick next yr.

The rookie cap isn't going to slash salaries in half.

Doubt the rookie cap will be in before this draft.

It might actually be better to get hurt. Had Bradford stayed healthy, what are the chances that he could duplicate the performance he has as a junior? If Luck gets hurt this year, people still see him as the best player based on last year. If he has a down year, or even an equal year, he could drop.

Sweet....now Harbaugh can tank the Dolphins and draft him next year.

What do you think #1 overall players will get after the cap?

This is a kid that has been rich his whole life. Stupid decision but he doesn't care about the cash.

Mile High Mania 01-06-2011 01:56 PM

It's his call... dunno why it drives some of you crazy. If he's happy, who are we to judge? Likely will make it a bit more difficult for Harbaugh to leave.

It doesn't have to be. It just has to be in place before the rookies are signed.
