I'd say this injury means there will be a lot of happy Chiefs fans for the rest of the season. No one has bought into Cassel, and it doesn't look like anyone is going to.
As for the rest of the season being lost now, I'm not buying into that either. Only one team in the West has the same starting QB they opened the season with under center now. It's basically still a tie as far as the division race goes, and anyone can win it.
Haley stays regardless IMO. He's led them to a division title in his second season, and he's a bit of a risk taker. It doesn't always work out the way we as fans want it to, but it's far better than Herm and his philosophy: 1st, handoff. 2nd, handoff. 3rd, pass. 4th, punt. Worst football ever.
Palko isn't going to break any records, so let's be careful what we wish for. There are worse passers than Cassel—Brodie Croyle anyone?
The killer B's won't be affected too bad by this injury. It's not like Cassel was throwing 50yard bombs on a rope to Bowe to stretch the field. Should be business as usual.
Probably still won't see much, if any, of Stanzi this year.
That's my take anyway.
